The Naitasiri Warriors School Girls Rugby League team from Wainimala Secondary School absolutely nailed it and clinched the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Vodafone Pherrus Trophy yesterday at Prince Charles Park Nadi.
As everyone’s cheering for this awesome win, Lynda Tabuya, the Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection, gave the winning team the trophy and made it clear that the government is all about backing gender equality and giving women and girls the chance to shine, even in sports.
Tabuya also gave a big shoutout to Wainimala Secondary School for their amazing effort in the final match. She said the success of the Naitasiri Warriors School Girls Rugby League Team proves that women and girls can achieve anything when they’re supported to do their best.
Loads of students and families braved the Nadi heat to cheer on their school teams.
