The Fijian rugby league community are gearing up for the biggest Fijian Nines showdown this Friday at the Fijian Cup 9s in Sigatoka.
16 men's teams featuring 12 local and 4 New Zealand clubs will battle for the main prise money of a whooping $15,000.00 FJD in the Men’s Division; while 8 women’s teams from local club-land will also contend for the main prise money $15, 000.00 FJD paralleled to the men’s prise pool.
Tournament Chief of Operations Epeli Tagivetaua is adamant that the tournament is set to be the biggest & best Nines Tournament.
“The Fijian Cup is the most incredible Nines League getaway for pacific rugby league teams and we are excited about welcoming our New Zealand families who will be part of this inaugural event.”

“Auckland Rugby League are also part of the 10-day event that begun on Friday 11 November. 18 local coaches and referees participated in the Technical Development clinics by ARL who have also been on tour to villages and communities along the coral-coast to teach basic rugby-league skills and donate sporting gears and school items.
The Fijian Cup 9s will be held at Lawaqa Park from Friday 18th November to Saturday 19th and broadcast live across the pacific on Fiji One, Kayo and Sky Channels. Tickets to the games are $5 flat and will be sold at the gated entry points.
