SCOTLAND NEXT FOR THE BATI IN FINAL POOL MATCH

Vodafone Fiji Bati vice-captain Tui Kamikamica is very impressed with how the Bati players played today, in their second match of the Rugby League World Cup tournament against Italy.

“It was a good team performance today, we just kept it nice and simple, we spoke about that during the week. You can see our defense today was really good,” Kamikamica said.

“They (Italy) got a couple of good spine in their middle, for them, the first 15 minutes was a bit of an arm-wrestle up until we scored two back to back tries, after that we just kept rolling in through the middle, we just kept it nice and simple, just playing a Fijian style of footy.”

Honored for the win, Kamikamica said the team will now regroup, focusing on their next challenge, which is against Scotland next week.

“Every time I go out there in the field, especially in representing my country, I just want to give everything I got, just empty the tank week in and week out. As a little kid growing up in Fiji, it was always my dream to play for my country and every time I put on my jumper I am always proud of it,” he said.

“We are just taking every team, game by game, we focused on Italy this week, and now with the job done, next week, we will be more focused towards Scotland.”
