The Fiji National Rugby League is seeking dynamic and hard-working Managers to oversee the two National Teams, Fiji Bati and Fiji Bulikula, in preparation for the upcoming Pacific Championship. The Championship is scheduled to take place in Fiji and Australia, commencing on 19 October. The preparation of the national teams will begin after the announcement of the extended squad at the end of July 2024.
The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of team administration and logistics, as well as excellent communication and delegation skills to maximize productivity and efficiency. Additionally, they should have report-writing skills and be knowledgeable about using allocated funds effectively for the national teams.
As for the technical aspects, the Managers are expected to work in close collaboration with the Head Coaches to ensure that the preparations align with the established plans.
The position of Manager reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the following duties: oversee administration, funding, grants, and sponsorship; ensure project timelines are met and tasks completed efficiently; develop, implement, and manage budget and resource allocation plans; delegate and enforce national team policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, training programs, and culture; collaborate closely with the Team Travel Logistics Officer at FNRL for visa applications, apparel sizes, media promotions, and transportation; work closely with the Human Resource Unit of FNRL for appointments of coaching staff.
The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Managing National Sporting Teams.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Superb verbal and written communication.
- Keen strategic thinking and planning
- Excellent leadership skills including goal setting, motivating, training, and mentorship
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening.
